We had such a great time photographing Puneet + Paul in the summer in Osoyoos before their engagement party – that we decided to meet up again! This time in the lower mainland at the UBC campus.  Opting for a more formal look, Puneet was stunnnning in her red gown and Paul he looked pretty sharp too ; ). Wandering around campus brought back so many memories for the two of them from when they first started dating. The session wrapped up comfy and cozy in their favorite campus coffee shop.  I can’t wait to see what the future holds for these two! Especially their wedding day festivities coming up in just a few short weeks!! <3

Miranda and Ross glowed with positive energy and excitement about the anticipated arrival of their daughter, Bristol. The day we met Miranda was about 3 weeks away from her due date and as happy as could  be. We explore around the water’s edge and into the forest for a variety of looks. Wardrobe props supplied by Tacy at Highberry Dew and my talented friend Tina at Platinum Floral Designs in Victoria graciously donated the beautiful florals for the session! At the end of the session Bailey, Miranda + Ross’ highly excitable pup joined us for a few snaps too! Last night Miranda + Ross became a family of 3 as they welcomed their daughter Bristol to the world! Congratulations to both of you!!!

Hardison turned 2 this February! He invited me over early in the morning on his birthday to capture some photos of him and his family before the party got started!  It’s always such a joy for me to photograph H every year for his birthday. Hardison is loving, playful and outgoing and always happy to see the camera! Its so fun to see how much he has grown, his new expressions, and what his new interests are. This year??  While his fav stuffed animals remain, he loves playing with his toy cars and trucks, drumming with his daddy, his backpack + books, watching the big ships in the harbour, and calling out to the “GUYS” ground crew working on the roads or nearby buildings (so hilarious!).

His mom and dad have started a wall show casing the annual ‘pantry portrait’, a photograph we have taking of their little family since Hardison was born. I love the idea and I LOVE shooting in front of their pantry.

His aunt + uncle and new cousin were out for a visit as well so of course we included them in the photo shoot too! Watch for them near the end! <3

This December M + I were lucky enough to make the trek home to Manitoba for the holidays! After missing Christmas gatherings for almost 3 years we were ready to get in some quality family time.  It was so great to be home, in the snow, surrounded by family + friends. While we were home I asked…er….told…Carl and his girlfriend Spencer that I wanted to snap some photos of them. They played along and didn’t put up much of a fight – I think they had fun ; )  Braving the fridgid temps with no jacket or mitts this session lasted all but 10 min. hahaha. Fastest photo session ever! But so sweet!

Last weekend we were invited to the Fernwood Inn Holiday party to capture their staff in our Holiday Photo booth!  The party go-ers were super enthusiastic about the variety of props, brought tons of energy to the booth and were a riot to photograph all evening! Thanks for the great night everyone – enjoy your sneak peek at some of your photos!

The lemons were back at it in the element photobooth! After a busy, busy couple of months preparing for Christmas at lululemon the staff finally had a chance to unwind and celebrate the season together. Bringing together high energy, gold sequence, pineapples and a glam fan – equals a good time, am I right?

Last month I shared Part 1 of a 3 part mini series featuring my friends Tacy + Bryn! Tacy + Bryn collaborated with myself and my girl Meghan from Sweet Heirloom photography for a gorgeous and meticulously crafted couples session. With so much planning and inspiration packed into the afternoon/evening session it was way, way to hard to narrow the photos down to just one post.  The lighting, the moss the timbers everything in the woods was diviiiiine that early October evening! Meghan and I had such a hard time pulling ourselves away from the forest that part 3 was shot nearly in the dark! Whoops! If you missed Part 1 (an at home mini session featuring lattes and laughter) + the story of how B + T became, well, B + T please head over HERE.

A foggy west coast day is a great reason to post one of this season’s coziest sessions. Tacy + Bryn collaborated with myself and my girl Meghan from Sweet Heirloom photography for a gorgeous and meticulously crafted couples session. With so much planning and inspiration packed into the afternoon/evening session it was way, way to hard to narrow the photos down to just one post. LUCKY FOR YOU I’ve decided to divide the collection up into a 3 part B+T mini series!  It was important to Bryn + Tacy to have their session photographed in their “‘hood” of Glenora. A sweet little village, nicknamed ‘Napa of the North’ with plenty of inspiration everywhere we went that day. If you have ever had the pleasure of gathering at the Rockwell’s divine casita you will know how much we looked forward to shooting in their home, which is where our photo collection begins. Tacy the artist and home designer behind Highberry Dew A Design House has impeccable and note worthy style you won’t soon forget.  Their home envelopes you like a museum of beautiful memories.  She patiently seeks out her collection of favourites from flea market finds to up-cycled vintage pieces. With complete trust in us they were at ease and simply ‘rolled with it’ as we snapped away capturing their beautiful home. Add that to a love so deep filled to the brim with adoration and a cuddly Corgi and folks we have a recipe for some damn good photo memories.

Tacy first met Bryn at her parents home 13 years ago. It was an afternoon get together at her parents place, a long time friend of her folks was visiting from Costa Rica and she was bringing her son. Tacy had to meet them. As she walked into the house, arms full of groceries she had a feeling, she knew this was it, though she hadn’t even seen him yet. She lingered while ‘putting away the groceries’ taking her time. Anxious, maybe. Unsure of what was going to happen next. She walked into the living room. He couldn’t take his eyes off of her, and later told her that he “knew” in that moment. He had waited his whole life to be her husband. She knew too. And that, along with many other things, set off a chain reaction which brought Tacy + Bryn to a marriage built on a solid foundation of good morals and values. To a home filled with big laughter, good music, nourishing food and the best friends. And to their furry companion Aiden the Corgi and cute mascot of HBD.

May I introduce you to “the hood”…

This set of fall family photos make me so happy! I am excited to share with you our amazing friends Michelle + Mitch and their growing family. Lucky for me I get to be “Auntie E” or rather “Aunteeeeeeeeee” to these two sweeties Vienna + Kinsley. Their daughters are such a sweet pair and stole my heart a long long time ago with their hugs and kisses, video messages and Facetime dates. Even though we are miles away Michelle does such a great job at keeping us close and reminding her little ones about the importance of family…er almost family ;) I have to give a huge huge shoutout to Uncle Jason who pulled out all the tricks in the book to keep the girls giggling the entire shoot (I snuck in a couple photos of him too!). Chocolate chips and goldfish crackers may have also played a small part. Good memories overflow when I look at these photos, such a treasure. We love the time we get to spend with all of you and look forward to seeing you again soon!

Whitney + Regan really know how to throw a good wedding celebration! They planned an entire weekend getaway for guests over thanksgiving in Osoyoos.  The weather held out for everyone to enjoy the beautiful okanagan,  and following their incredible wedding day they served up a delicious thanksgiving lunch the next day for guests to enjoy! The ladies spent the morning sipping champagne and getting ready slowly, laughing, sharing gifts and relishing the calm, casual ambience. Meanwhile Regan and the boys got prepared for the day over at Whit + Regan’s home. A comfortable atmosphere where they shared some beers, polished their shoes and got their suspenders and suits dialed in for the day. Guests gathered on the beach and – hello, what a stylish bunch. A simple ceremony on the beach under the willow tree suited Whitney + Regan perfectly. When I first started talking to Whitney about their wedding day plans the number ONE thing on her photo wish list was – a portrait session at Whitesands! Whitesands is a gorgeous white sandy beach on lake Osoyoos that is accessible by boat only. A popular summer hang out for locals and tourists alike. It held so many great memories to W + R that we had to get the group out there – I couldn’t wait! A pontoon boat was co-ordinated and we jumped on it shortly after the ceremony wrapped. The weather was a little cool, and a lot windy. Chop and waves slowed us down but we knew it would be worth it. Just as we arrived on the beach the sun broke through the gnarly looking clouds and gave us the 45 min of sunset light we needed. AND IT WAS GLORIOUS! Snapping away I was elated, watching W + R so full of love and realizing what a gift it is to be able to stop time for people through photographs. Capturing the way they felt in one of their most memorable places, on one of the best days of their lives. It was a wedding we won’t soon forget: so full of joy, laughter, dance & celebration. The way a wedding should be. Thank you so much for trusting us and including us as part of your incredible day!
