Ruck Family

It looks like Nina + Derek have their hands full!! With three year old twin boys and a newborn life looks pretty full from over here : ) But don’t be fooled! Marcus and Liam are pretty much the most chilled out 3 year olds I have ever had the joy of meeting. ever ever ever! They were totally skeptical of me at first and for almost the whole session! it was actually pretty funny! But we started to talk about batman and flash, hockey, and daddy’s stinky toots and I managed to crack a smile or two! These two bring quiet the serious “game face” and had me pulling out all the stops. Derek know’s all the right things to say to get these two going, so funny to watch them all together. Giggling like crazy! What an awesome little family!! The big brothers were super helpful with little Landon, quick to carry bottles, give kisses and cuddles whenever needed. We made funny faces, laughed at Dad and ran around in leaves and wrapped up the day with some street hockey!

Fun day guys! Fun family!! Enjoy your photos!

McMahon Family – Okanagan holiday

August 16, 2011

this is so great, this is so great beacaaause this is the second shoot I have done this summer for old Uni classmates!  The first one was Catherine + Ryan, who welcomed a baby girl on August 1. Now I got to spend the morning with Brooke + Scott and their adorable little boys Grayden + Declan. Brooke + Scott were in the Okanagan for a holiday with family and cruised through Osoyoos for a photo session first enroute to Kelowna for a family wedding. It was so sweet to see them again after 4 years and to see them with 2 little boys! We caught up and snapped away and then near the end of the the session Grayden decided his beloved stuffed bear Scout needed to go for a swim…er drown. Nearly drama but Scott being the super dad that he is saved Scout in the nick of time. Phew. So he was a little soggy. Session wrapped up just as the heat was turning up so we headed out for lunch!

Thanks S + B for coming to visit, I really enjoyed it! see you again soon!

Clauzel Family – lakeside Osoyoos

When Leah and I first connected via our emails we hit it off instantly! Conversation was so light, easy, she had a vision for what she wanted out of her family photo session and my style of photography seemed to fit her vision. Perfect! I love it when my clients come to me with creative ideas for their photo session. It makes the planning stages so much more fun and gets everyone on the same page right off the get go! Leah wanted a photo session that would reflect her families, fun-filled, sun-drenched summers in Osoyoos on the lake. After a few cancellations due to our unseasonal soggy July we found a night that co-operated for both of our busy schedules and we set out to soak up the gorgeous sunset.

Thanks Glen, Leah and girls for your positive energy and creativity!   See you on the beach : )

Paolera Family

Meet the Paolera’s! Mike, Jenn and their three rascals Kyle, Jordan and Rhys! What a great night we had tromping around the farm together on the eve of my birthday. The boys smiled for the camera, tackled each other for the camera and even did a little kung fu for the camera. You could say they got their exercise in that night for sure! And Rhys he really had the most “fun” of all. Teasing me mercilessly about how much “fun” he was having as we wrapped up the shoot. So just when he thought all the “fun” was over…I stopped them for a couple more, juuuust for Rhys since we were having so much “fun” and all!! hehe gotcha ; )

I have to give huge, huge props to Jenn for keeping it fabulous amongst all the testosterone she is surrounded with each and every day. Is she cute or what? Not only is she sweet and fab but she is also ruling the roost while her hubby is undergoing basic training with the RCMP in Regina. It was really important to Jenn to get the family snaps completed before he took off to Saskatchewan. A great reminder of the fun times at home to get them all through the 10 months ahead. He left only a few days after the shoot! Its proof that its never ever to late to pick-up a new skill, profession or trade and re-invent your day to day. I totally admire Mike for his ability to recognize a great opportunity for himself and his family. Jumping in with both feet! SUCH a great example for his boys.

don’t ya think?

Lozinski Kiddos

I spent an evening hamming it up with some of the funniest kids around! Meet the Lozinskis’!! These 3 were non-stop for the camera, making each other laugh the whole time and having a blast with me running around a packing house!! After we were done with the photos ice cream treats were promised and we filled ourselves up with the good stuff from DQ while cheering on our Canucks! Such a fun night, thank you so much.

I should also mention that the Lozinski’s won their photo shoot through a donation of a family photo session I made to a silent auction for the Osoyoos Relay for life. An all evening walk-a-thon raising money for Cancer research!

Thanks for your donation to research for a cure, I likes me a generous heart : )

Kachowski family

Jeremy + Lori are ammmmmazing friends to m + me. M and Jeremy met through a summer working together, eventually the job came to a close and they both went their separate ways. work-wise that is. Jer invited us to “friends day” at living way church in Oliver, our friendship grew stronger over many dinner dates and fishing trips. Lori and I had always hoped to plan a photo session but it just never seemed to work out. And then…last fall after much contemplation they decided to move their family way up north to Fort St. John to pursue an awesome job opportunity for Jeremy.  Gah on no! what about the photos? what about the fishing trips?? No worries though, this was a good move for the Kachowski’s. M + me we totally understand!

This spring they decided to escape the snow, the moose, and the forests to come back down south for a visit. The kiddos got to holiday with friends and cousins and Jer + Lori escaped to Mexico for the honeymoon they never had. We managed to squeak in a BBQ dinner with them before the took off for their romantic holiday in the sun and decided that we must make a photo date.

so we did!

and im so glad : )

hello, taylor swift : )

I had the BEST morning with this family. I really did. Probably the happiest, giggly-est, family I have ever photographed. It was clear between the inside jokes and teasing that there is never a dull moment when this bunch gets together!  Lonna contacted me via email just a few short weeks ago, she needed a family photo shoot! I replied with the details and within minutes…she replied “sounds great, LETS DO THIS!”.  Awesome, decisive…I liked her already! After we spoke on the phone I felt a genuine connection. We must have chatted about this and that for 10 minutes, we had so much common ground it was so exciting!  The whole family originally hails from Manitoba (my old stomping grounds), and get this – Gerry’s uncle used to be mayor in my hometown of Winkler, MB. Small world?? Whacky!  The family was gathering to celebrate an impressive milestone. Mena and Sam (aka. Grandma and Grandpa) were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary!  The remarkable couple recalled their wedding day, a wintery day in Swan Lake, MB with much fondness. It was such an encouragement to see their on-going love, laughs and faith shine through in each other.  Thanks all of you for the great day!
